Heavy security presence has enveloped the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, as over 200 armed police operatives have taken strategic positions ahead of the expected arraignment of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

The senator is to be arraigned on charges bordering on alleged defamation of the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello. The case was instituted by the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, SAN.

As of the time of filing this report, Senator Natasha was yet to arrive at the court premises. However, a crowd of her supporters, led by former Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, alongside several human rights activists, were already on ground in solidarity.
