CBM Strengthens Grassroots in Abia Central, Inaugurates New Structure to Drive Youth Mobilization and National Growth

The City Boy Movement (CBM), Abia State Chapter, under the leadership of State Director, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, has successfully inaugurated its Local Government Coordinators, assistants, and executives across the six LGAs of Abia Central Senatorial Zone.

The well-attended event drew key stakeholders, including APC Chairmen from Umuahia North and South LGAs, the CBM State Patron and Coordinator, Zonal Coordinator Chief Uzo, LGA Coordinators, State Executives, and former House of Representatives member, Rt. Hon. Sam Onuigbo.

In his welcome address, Chief Uzo described a “City Boy” as a young individual who rises through hard work to achieve success, noting that the movement embodies hope and a pathway to a brighter future. He expressed appreciation to the leadership and attendees for their unwavering support.

Speaking on behalf of the LGA Coordinators, the Umuahia South Coordinator thanked the State Executives for the trust placed in them, pledging dedication to grassroots mobilization and unity in achieving the movement’s national objectives.

The State Patron emphasized the importance of political inclusion and alignment at the national level, urging Ndị Igbo to actively support the current administration to enhance federal representation and opportunities.

Rt. Hon. Sam Onuigbo commended CBM’s leadership for establishing a formidable platform aimed at engaging and empowering young people across Abia State.

Delivering his keynote address, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe described the inauguration as a significant step beyond ceremony—a symbol of renewed patriotism, unity, and commitment to a prosperous Nigeria under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He highlighted that the City Boy Movement is a grassroots-driven initiative focused on mobilizing and empowering Nigerian youths, strengthening participation, and supporting progressive governance ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Addressing the newly inaugurated executives, he urged them to see their roles as a call to service, build inclusive structures, actively engage their communities, and ensure broad representation at all levels.

He also called on traditional rulers, community leaders, and stakeholders across Abia State to support the movement, stressing that collective effort is key to achieving meaningful development and national progress.

The event concluded on a high note, with renewed commitment from members and stakeholders as CBM continues to expand its presence and impact across the state.
