Dele Momodu Dumps PDP, Declares Party a ‘Carcass Hijacked by Anti-Democratic Forces’”

Media entrepreneur and former presidential aspirant, Dele Momodu, has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing the party’s decline into what he described as a “carcass” hijacked by anti-democratic elements.

In a strongly worded resignation letter addressed to his ward leadership, Momodu decried the internal collapse of the once-formidable opposition party, stating that it no longer represents the ideals and values he once believed in.

“My reason is simple and straightforward,” he wrote. “Our party has been unarguably hijacked by anti-democratic forces, from within and outside, in broad daylight.”

Momodu described his decision to leave the PDP as an “honourable exit,” adding that it was time to “abandon the carcass of the party” and pursue a new political direction. He further revealed his support for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a party he claims is now attracting many disillusioned PDP members.

His departure comes amid growing signs of unrest within the PDP, which has recently been plagued by internal wrangling, defections, and leadership disputes.

With Momodu’s exit, the PDP continues to lose high-profile voices at a critical time when unity and reform are essential for its survival ahead of upcoming elections.
