OMPAN Mourns with Don Lulu Over Mother’s Passing, Describes Her Death as a Huge Loss to Abians
The Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (OMPAN), Abia State chapter, has expressed heartfelt condolences to Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, popularly known as Don Lulu, on the death of his beloved mother, Dame Peace Onyekwulechi Igbokwe, who passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the age of 60.
In a condolence statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Chief Promise Uzoma Okoro, and the General Secretary, Dr. Steve Unegbu, the association described Dame Igbokwe’s demise as a monumental loss — not only to the Igbokwe family and the Umuawa Alaocha community in Umuahia but also to Abia State at large.
“OMPAN members sincerely identify with Chief Don Lulu and his siblings in this moment of grief,” the statement read. “We share in their pain and pray that God will comfort the family and fill the vacuum left by her passing. Her absence will indeed be deeply felt by all.”
The association further encouraged the family to take solace in the fact that Dame Peace lived an impactful life worthy of emulation, adding that “life is not measured by how long one lived but by the positive impact one made while alive.”
“Death remains the inevitable end of every mortal — a clarion call we must all answer someday,” OMPAN stated, urging the Igbokwe family to bear the loss with faith and total submission to the will of God.
