IWUANYANWU’S FINAL WILL; WIFE RISKS LOSING INHERITANCE IF SHE REMARRIES

The late elder statesman and former Ohanaeze Ndigbo President-General, Chief (Engr. Dr.) Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has posthumously stirred public attention with a Will that forbids his wife, Lolo Frances, from remarrying—at the risk of losing valuable assets bequeathed to her.

The document, unveiled on June 16, 2025, by Will administrator Chief Chukwuma Ekomaru (SAN), meticulously outlines how the revered politician and business mogul’s estate is to be shared among his immediate family and other chosen beneficiaries.

Key among the inheritances is the iconic “Legacy House” on Port Harcourt Road, Owerri, willed to Frances under the condition that it must never be sold. She also inherits Magil Furniture, previously managed by Iwuanyanwu’s late first wife, Eudora, and gains partial control of real estate in Orji, Works Layout, and Naze in Imo State.

However, these assets come with a binding clause: should Frances remarry, she forfeits all entitlements under the Will.

Their son receives the Abuja residence, while the London home is to be sold. Proceeds from the sale are designated as follows: 60% for the education of the youngest son, 30% to his first son, Jide, and 10% to Ezinne, who currently resides in the property, to support her relocation.

In a lasting act of philanthropy, Iwuanyanwu’s “Glass House” near the Orji flyover will be converted into a public trust, managed by an independent board for charitable causes. The rest of his estate—including assets in Abuja, Imo, and other parts of Nigeria—was equitably distributed among his five children, who hailed the Will as both “honorable and just.”
