Abians have lauded the City Boy Movement and its National Patron, Seyi Tinubu, for delivering a high-impact youth empowerment programme during the Renewed Hope National Youth Tour held in Owerri on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

The event drew an impressive turnout of young people from across the South-East, highlighting growing grassroots engagement with the movement’s mission to empower youths in entrepreneurship, ICT, agriculture, and transportation. Beneficiaries received tools and support aimed at boosting their businesses and improving livelihoods.

The large attendance further reflects increasing youth alignment with the reelection bid of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly among a demographic often marginalized in economic opportunities.

However, a crowd surge that led to a stampede temporarily disrupted the otherwise successful outing. While the incident raised concerns around crowd control, security, and venue capacity, stakeholders described it as a learning curve rather than a setback.

Speaking at the event, Abia State Director of the movement, Lucky Igbokwe, who led the state’s delegation, praised Seyi Tinubu’s leadership and commitment to youth development. He noted that the initiative is already making tangible impact across communities in Abia State, with more youths embracing entrepreneurship and civic engagement.

“The overwhelming turnout shows that the City Boy Movement is fast becoming a rallying point for young Nigerians who believe in the Renewed Hope agenda,” Igbokwe said.

He also expressed appreciation for the opportunities being created for young people to actively participate in nation-building.

Igbokwe further commended the Director-General of the movement, Francis Shoga, for his strategic coordination and dedication, which he said have significantly expanded the movement’s national reach.

Reaffirming its commitment, the Abia chapter pledged to intensify grassroots mobilization and continue supporting initiatives that empower youths to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s development.
