Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has officially declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He made this known during a high-level political gathering held in Ogbomoso, at the residence of APC chieftain Chief Ayoade Adeseun. Adelabu assured party faithful that the APC will conduct a free, fair, and inclusive primary, adding that no aspirant would be imposed on the party.

“I’m up to the task. I want to demonstrate my ability to compete and emerge victorious,” Adelabu boldly stated.

Calling for unity within the party, the Minister urged aggrieved members to forgive past grievances and embrace collective strength, which he described as vital to reclaiming political power in the state come 2027.

Adelabu, who previously contested for governor twice, said he is now better prepared and armed with valuable experience from those elections.

“I’m ready to apply the experiences I’ve gained from the past two elections,” he said.

He also stressed the strategic electoral importance of the Ogbomoso zone in APC’s future success and praised the growing unity among various political blocs in the party.

Additionally, Adelabu expressed support for President Bola Tinubu’s anticipated re-election bid, describing it as another opportunity for the APC to solidify its hold on power at the national level.
